EDITION SPECIALE by Luxe Pack : towards sustainable success
The first event in France for environmentally friendly luxury packaging, EDITION SPECIALE by Luxe Pack closed its doors on the evening of Wednesday 5th June after an extremely positive event: 1,658 visitors.
“This 1st edition was a genuine success. Focused on ecological packaging innovations, the trade fair fulfilled its dual role as an informative platform for brands challenging themselves and a business forum for manufacturers,” explained Nathalie Grosdidier, Delegate General Director of IDICE, the event organisers.

Exhibitors won over
Organised during Sustainable Development Week, this event celebrating ecology brought together 64 exhibitors who presented their reduced environmental impact packaging: glass, plastic, paper, cardboard, fabric, accessories. A whole host of solutions to help visitors design their future packaging.
“This trade fair kept its promises. Mainly focused on luxury packaging end-customers, the atmosphere at the event encouraged discussion and introductions to new customers,” highlighted German papermaker GMUND.
“The event kept its promises, making eco-responsibility a prerogative.
The Carreau du Temple was the perfect environment for the exhibition and the quality of the visitors fulfilled our expectations. A very satisfying experience,” for PM STUDIO, packaging and accessory manufacturer.

"A great initiative from Luxe Pack with a strong theme! Sustainable development and eco-design of packaging is a real concern for our clients," explains MR CARTONNAGE NUMERIQUE.
Strong attendance for an unprecedented conference format.
Very different from traditional round tables, the big debates organised in the morning and the brand-supplier feedback sessions in the afternoon were extremely popular.
Many experts in eco-design and the circular economy (COOPERATIVE MU, QUANTIS, UPCYLEA, CITEO, CNE) spoke about the new direction that is eco-design. It is a direction for a new era and will give another meaning to luxury goods. Whether they were committed pure players (ABSOLUTION, GARCON WINES, SEVENTYONE PERCENT) or big buyers (GUERLAIN, REMY COINTREAU, CLARINS, L’OCCITANE, LOUIS VUITTON), all agreed that the question of taking action is no longer relevant. We need to move away from competition towards cooperation. An “act together” revolution that works at every level.

Visitor awards for ESKA.
Is this referring to a specific event or recognition related to ESKA?
During the exhibition, visitors were asked to vote for their favourite product. Dutch cardboard maker ESKA received the GREEN AWARD by INFINITY GLOBAL for its cardboard solution that is made with denim fibres. An award that showcases the values of the manufacturer who converted to a “100% recycled” approach nearly 50 years ago.
2020 Theme
After consulting with luxury brands and packaging manufacturers, it appears that including the challenge of sustainable development is the most predominant key factor for success in packaging innovations. Convinced by the riches this theme has to offer, LUXE PACK will organise another EDITION SPECIALE on the same topic in 2020, to present even more eco-responsible innovations and bring new debates to the fore as we go further together in eco-design. The trade fair will be held at the Carreau du Temple, on 26th and 27th May.
