James Cropper brings colour off the page at Edition Spéciale by LUXE PACK
British master papermaker James Cropper will bring its colour expertise to this year’s Edition Spéciale by LUXE PACK, inviting visitors to explore how colour can become one of a brand’s most powerful assets.
Taking place on 17–18 June at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris, the event will see James Cropper ask a deceptively simple question with an infinite range of answers: What is the colour of Paris?
Drawing on more than 180 years of papermaking heritage and decades of colour-matching expertise, the company will use the city as provocation; an invitation to explore how colour captures identity, stirs emotion, and makes a brand instantly and unmistakeably recognisable. Through a curated display of coloured papers and premium moulded fibre packaging, visitors will be encouraged to consider how colour shapes perceptions of places, products and brands alike.
Vivid, considered, and alive with possibility. It will showcase the Rydal Collection of natural, uncoated papers engineered for premium packaging applications, the Coloursource™ range of uncoated coloured papers created through proprietary fibre and colour expertise, and Colourform, its innovative moulded fibre packaging material.
"Colour shapes how we feel about a place more profoundly than almost anything else," said Mickael Minot, Brand Owner Director at James Cropper. "We're looking to build a palette for Paris that captures the unmistakable identity of one of the world's great cities. Given the power that colour has as an emotional touchpoint, it's a rare opportunity for brands to feel what becomes possible when it’s mastered.
The Rydal Packaging Collection delivers natural uncoated papers for premium packaging applications, engineered to maintain consistent converting performance and surface quality across formats including luxury bags, folding cartons, rigid box wraps and packaging accessories. Available across multiple fibre compositions and grammages, it supports reliable production outcomes where both structure and finish are critical.
Colourform extends this material capability into three-dimensional packaging, using a mono-material moulded fibre construction to create precision-formed components such as wraps, inserts, tops, bases and integrated closures.
The Coloursource™ range comprises 50 uncoated coloured papers developed using proprietary fibre and colour formulations across three weights. Available directly from the source via exclusive partners Winter & Co, it supports both creative and packaging applications, including tags, stationery, cartons and retail packaging components, extending controlled colour capability across a versatile uncoated paper system for design-led use.
Together, these platforms show what happens when colour, material and form are developed in concert. Each distinct, purposeful, and part of a richer expression of luxury.
James Cropper will be exhibiting at Edition Spéciale by LUXE PACK on 17–18 June at the Carrousel du Louvre, Stand B02, where against one of the world’s great backdrops for beauty, visitors can explore how colour and material innovation are rewriting what luxury packaging can be.
