Etablissements Edmond combines eco-designed innovation and relocates its manufacturing of folding boxes and boxes to France.

Etablissements Edmond combines eco-designed innovation and relocates its manufacturing of folding boxes and boxes to France.
Etablissements Edmond, a Makao subsidiary which produces box sets for luxury markets both for events and large-scale productions, has relocated part of its production to France.

For Etablissements Edmond, which specialises in rigid boxes for the luxury sector (cosmetics, chocolate, wines/spirits, etc.), eco-designed innovation is a demonstration of its expertise. No less than four patents have been filed in recent years, including one recently for eco-designed wedging.
The company’s team of designers and packaging engineers designs and models projects in a gilding & embossing, printing, cutting, 3D printing workshop in Paris (3rd arrondissement).
The customer can leave in the evening with their project completed, printed, and possibly hot foil stamped.
‘I think that with the equipment we have, we can even talk about a small manufacturing unit. We provide the customer with an effective and timely offer to allow them to make a quick decision’, explained David Jankowski, Etablissements Edmond’s Managing Director.

This desire for responsiveness has led the company to relocate part of its production to France. Up to 2020, everything was made in China by its 25 partner producers, supervised by its Hong Kong subsidiary.
The French factory, located in Mâcon, at the crossroads of several major roads (A40/A6) opened in March 2022. It includes two production lines equipped with the latest generation automatic machines to manufacture covered box sets and finish them (hot foil stamping, screen printing, embossing, acetate lamination, etc.). ‘In 2019, we decided to also manufacture in France in order to meet the expectations of a new generation of customers who are betting on the Made in France and who are concerned about reducing their impact on the environment. Faced with the ramping up of our production, we are delighted with this industrial investment, which has benefited from the financial support of the Bourgogne/Franche-Comté region and bpiFrance’, said David Jankowski.

The company, which sources FSC-certified recycled compact cardboard in France and Europe, uses water-based inks for printing. It also has a wide range of bulk-dyed cardboard, up to 3 mm, for the manufacture of boxes, with the possibility of ordering a custom colour for a minimum volume of five tonnes.
Depending on the complexity of the development work, its specificity, and the finishing work required inside the box, Etablissements Edmond undertakes to deliver a series of 30,000 boxes in about 15 days from validation of the brief and receipt of the materials. The factory also provides custom packaging services.
