Edition Spéciale by LUXE PACK gears up sustainable packaging event
New materials, roundtables, success stories and start-up pitches are on the agenda at Edition Spéciale by LUXE PACK, which is taking place on May 31st-June 1st at Paris’ Carreau du Temple. Speakers lined up for the conference program include executives at LVMH Fragrance Brands, Groupe Rocher, L’Oréal and Martell Mumm Perrier-Jouët.

Edition Spéciale by LUXE PACK is a hotly anticipated event in the luxury packaging trade show calendar, with its focus on eco-design and a popular conference program. The event is set to play host to 65 exhibitors and more than 2,000 visitors when it opens its doors in Paris at the end of May. Exhibitors include returning companies Bormioli Luigi, Kurz, Knoll Packaging and G.Pivaudran, as well as newcomers Cosfibel Group, Edelmann and Premier Packaging.

On the conference front, geopolitical scientist and futurist Virginie Raisson-Victor will be giving the opening keynote speech. This will be followed by a session on France’s 3R strategy for single-use plastic packaging under the AGEC law, with Coca Cola CSR Director Arnaud Rolland, Fédération des Industries du Verre President Jacques Bordat and Sébastien Jacques, Head of Public Affairs at French plastic and flexible packaging association Elipso.

Adeline Houcke Leriche, Lancôme Development Director at L’Oréal, and Sophie Labroussemolla, Head of R&D Packaging at Groupe Rocher, are among the speakers taking part in a session on how to measure packaging carbon footprint.

Formes de Luxe and Luxe Packaging Insight Editorial Director Alissa Demorest will moderate the Responsible buying: Are you Ready? session. Featuring eco-design agency Cooperative Mu Co-Founder Anthony Boule and LVMH Fragrance Brands EMEA Sustainability Director Armel Yver, the roundtable will delve into how eco-designed products and packaging can meet the needs of luxury consumers, with a concrete case study on redesigning Givenchy’s Le Soin Noir in Asia.

Ask Me Anything by Arnaud Le Berrigaud is a 45-minute session with a packaging expert designed to question, raise awareness and invite interaction among attendees. Meanwhile, the popular Success Stories will focus on brand-supplier collaboration, including a packaging project from Chanel and Cosfibel, while the new materials pitches are 10-minute sessions giving the floor to start-ups.

On the show floor, the Sense and Sensory Materials space will play host to an array of start-ups focused on sustainable materials, including Arrosia, with its Ecopin bio-sourced resin made from maritime pine; and Embelium, which makes packaging from agricultural fiber. Algae-based packaging producer Notpla, sustainable tannery Ictyos and silk specialist Sericyne will also be present.

With My Coaching Desk by Citeo, the environmental organization will be on hand to offer visitors personalized coaching, answering questions around eco-designing luxury packaging, sorting, reuse and recycling.

Visitors will be able to vote for their favorite product from a show exhibitor, with the winner recognized with a Green Award in partnership with Infinity Global. The award ceremony and cocktail will take place on the first day of the show.
