Delicacy and Innovation: The Perfect Balance of PDL’s Eco-Luxury Tissue Papers
The century-old company is opening a new era in the field of premium packaging solutions.

Nestled between Lake Geneva and the French Alps, the company transforms renewable raw materials – flax, hemp, cellulose – and industrial co-products, into refined tissue papers, combining excellence and environmental respect.
Luxury houses are looking for packaging solutions that live up to their creations. To protect sensitive materials or to be placed between layers of delicate fabrics, PDL reinvents tissue paper by enhancing textile co-products.
The result ? PrimaSilk™ Textile (to be presented at the Edition Spéciale 2025 trade show), a light, elegant, durable paper in perfect harmony with the requirements of the luxury industry.

Today a leader in the manufacture of lightweight paper, PDL continuously develops new bio-based solutions, thus reducing its environmental footprint without ever compromising on quality or functionality.
“We integrate the circular economy from the design stage of the papers, to minimize their carbon footprint and offer environmentally friendly alternatives to traditional solutions,” recalls Guillaume Moreau, Head of R&D. While hemp and flax, grown and harvested in France, are often used in the manufacture of tissue papers, PDL is also exploring, for its PrimaSilk™ Botanica range, new ecosystems incorporating co-products derived, among others, from coffee processing.
This strong commitment is also reflected in the optimization of manufacturing processes to reduce waste and energy consumption.
PDL also stands out through its managerial vision : “Since 2014, we have adopted a management model based on trust, transparency, and autonomy. This unique corporate culture encourages employee involvement at PDL and stimulates their creativity. This balance allows us to face the many market challenges with agility,” explains Stéphane Barbereau, General Director.

With a resolutely forward-looking approach, PDL continues to innovate to reconcile luxury and sustainability and to prove that excellence can be responsible.
