With BRC's recycled CO₂ technology, perfume bottles have a new life.
The French company BRC was selected by the Circul'R coalition, dedicated to the circular economy, following a call for tenders.

Thanks to its cleaning process using supercritical carbon dioxide, perfume brands will be able to reuse their bottles. This technology will be unveiled at the 2025 edition of Édition Spéciale by LUXE PACK, to be held on July 1st and 2nd in Paris.

Ten years ago, Marie Devaux took over from her parents at the head of BRC, a company specialized in packaging and contract manufacturing for various industries. Her goal: to drive recycling and reuse initiatives through technical innovation.

Recycling plastic cosmetic packaging—or reducing it through refills—is already part of BRC’s offer. However, finding a way to reuse glass perfume bottles was a new challenge, explains the CEO:
“Luxury fragrance bottles are designed by brands as true works of art, and consumers see them as very personal items. With their complex shapes and hidden corners, they are particularly difficult to clean,” says Marie Devaux.

After two years of research and development conducted with experts from an engineering school near Toulouse, where the company is headquartered, BRC developed a cleaning process based on supercritical carbon dioxide, using patented tools.
