Keller Packaging: Compostable Packaging Enters the Luxury Era

Keller Packaging: Compostable Packaging Enters the Luxury Era
This specialist in the ethical printing of cardboard boxes, sleeves, and small point-of-sale displays does not merely adapt to eco-design — it turns it into a driving force.

At Keller Packaging, every stage of the process is designed to combine performance with responsibility. A holistic vision that brings suppliers, partners, and clients together within the same virtuous ecosystem.

Meeting with Xavier Tremosa, a committed president.

Sustainability has become a standard. How do you make it tangible on a daily basis?

It guides every one of our decisions. From design to production, sustainability is embedded in our processes as a reflex shared by all 45 employees.

Our commitment is reflected in very concrete actions: systematic eco-design, responsible material selection, optimization of resources and logistics flows. We are certified EcoVadis Gold, Imprim’Vert, and are currently pursuing Print’Ethic certification. But beyond the labels, it is truly a company culture that speaks through our actions.

Every project is designed to reduce its impact without ever compromising perceived quality. That balance is what makes the difference today.

You are announcing a major innovation. How is it changing the packaging industry?

After three years of R&D, our sister company Martinet et Hirondelle has developed a new generation of eco-designed packaging that is 100% home-compostable — a first in Europe. This breakthrough innovation reconciles three demands that are often seen as incompatible: technical performance, aesthetic excellence, and environmental responsibility. Print finishes remain sharp and precise, with a quality level fully compatible with luxury standards
The TÜV Austria OK HOME COMPOST certification was recently obtained by Martinet et Hirondelle, and from September 2026 onward, the certification will also apply to Keller Packaging.
This solution offers premium brands a concrete alternative to reduce their carbon footprint while remaining compliant with new regulations.

How are you redefining today’s packaging?

It remains a powerful strategic marketing lever. But today, it must be impeccable on every level: innovative, desirable, and above all, responsible.
Our approach has been completely rethought. Innovation has become a tool to accelerate the transition toward a circular economy. We prioritize more streamlined solutions, mono-material designs, and the integration of recycled content. Our packaging no longer simply protects a product — it also tells the story of what it becomes after use.

What unique value do you bring to luxury brands within this new paradigm?

We make eco-design tangible and industrially applicable. Our role is to find the right balance between desirability, technical feasibility, and measurable environmental performance.

By treating eco-design not as a constraint, but as an added value to the customer experience, it becomes a fully-fledged component of a brand’s signature.
