Zamac and aluminium packaging: Cosmotec analyzes the life cycle of its products to make them more sustainable
Cosmotec's expertise in working with Zamac, a metal alloy made of 100% recyclable raw materials, has made it a key player in eco-responsible packaging. Guido Ambrosone, General Manager, shares insights into the cutting-edge technologies developed by his company.

"Our teams are driven by excellence"

The family-owned company, founded in 1998 by Michele Ambrosone, initially specialized in manufacturing perfume caps and fashion accessory components. In 2012, the company expanded its production capacity: “Our facilities include a department dedicated to manual assembly and embellishment, where our craftsmen skillfully work with various materials such as metal, glass, textiles, wood, resin, and enamel. We also have a leather goods workshop,” explains Guido Ambrosone. With this global approach to packaging and the recent introduction of die-cast and machined aluminum, Cosmotec ensures the production of durable, 100% Made in Italy products, standing out for its ability to evolve and innovate. “All our improvements are aimed at improving quality and reducing environmental impact, while maintaining competitive costs.

Fostering virtuous creations

This July, Cosmotec will introduce a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) simulation tool, developed in collaboration with a consultancy firm specializing in sustainable solutions. The challenge? To assess the environmental impact of its products at every stage of production—an essential asset in an increasingly regulated industry.

To reduce its impact, the company also relies on its industrial infrastructure: low-energy machines, water purification systems, photovoltaic panels and LED lighting.  All the electric energy used comes from renewable sources.

Cosmotec also favors recycled materials. The zamac used contains at least 75% post-industrial recycled materials, while the die-cast aluminum comprises at least 90% recycled PIR and PCR materials.

Packaging: a universal language

For Guido Ambrosone, "Packaging is a language." More than just a container, it reflects an identity, know-how, and commitment. That's why Cosmotec redefines the standards of high-end packaging, reconciling aesthetics, performance and respect for the environment
