Zero waste goals

You can never say it often enough that the best waste is the waste you don’t produce. Yet, failing this, let us at least avoid producing waste wherever possible.

To meet the zero waste objective, CLARINS is working on the constraints and challenges of refilling.
Guillaume LASCOURRÈGES of this company, a pioneer in terms of environmental responsibility, observes that, in light of life-cycle analysis, “refilling is only ecologically viable after a minimum number of refills.”
So, when the index is based solely on GHG emissions, it is less worthwhile to have glass refills than plastic ones.
TIPA, for its part, proposes recyclable plastic pouches that are biodegradable when composted. As its sales director points out, “An action that remains imperfect is always better than perfect inaction.”

With the Oé brand, deposits on glass wine bottles have been given a new lease of life. You may have thought that paying deposits on bottles was a thing of the past: well, far from it, it is back in force and it is working very well. By way of example, Oé has become the official wine supplier for the restaurant chain, Le Pain Quotidien.
Reuse as a major principle of circularity demonstrates its ecological efficiency and economic performance all the more when played out on a large scale.
In conclusion, let us offer a tip for moving toward zero waste : the pack must be conceived first and foremost in terms of its functionality.
