Responsible finishing of your Packs: FLOCK1’S VELVET ECR
Flock1, designer and manufacturer of multi-media tactile materials presents its latest invention: ‘an Eco-designed, FSC-Certified, and Recyclable velvet cardboard’ VELVET ECR intended for packaging manufacturers wishing to offer luxury brands a prestigious ecological solution.

Flock 1 adds an environmental and sustainable dimension to its ranges of tactile materials while offering exceptional depth to the hues, visual effects amplified by volume and relief, and the exceptional sensory feel of velvet, suede, peachskin, and fabric.
Responsible and respectful of the environment, Flock1 undertook a global approach to the development of its industrial model (adherence to the United Nations global compact for the environment, FSC certification, Ecovadis – Silver certification, etc.) in 2018. In 2022, Flock1 created its own internal Eco-design process called IMPACT CONTROL. More than a just a process, IMPACT CONTROL is an organisational framework. It allows Flock1 teams to control, validate, and certify the durability and impact reduction of its creations. To support the seriousness and credibility of its IMPACT CONTROL process, Flock 1 includes the necessary test runs, carried out externally and independently, to support and validate its assertions. For VELVET ECR, these were entrusted to an external, independent French laboratory and to recycling experts. As such, F1 can claim that the VELVET ECR material is recyclable (ex works).
INFORMATION ON AND COMPOSITION OF VELVET ECR
‘The use of cellulose-based Ecoflock(r) fibres allows Velvet© cardboard to be recycled in the conventional paper pulp preparation process’, assured Thierry Agard, Chairman of Flock1 (composition complies with the specifications of the standard NF EN 13 430). The head of the company added: ‘we work in complete transparency and can provide our customers with the results of the tests carried out by the independent laboratory and recycling stakeholders’.
