It was in 2015! An Oscar for packaging hailed the promising innovation of a startup. Founded in 2014, Lactips, reinforced by the packaging and packaging waste regulation project (PPWR), sees its first applications arrive on the market in 2024. A beautiful birthday!
Interview with Benoît Berny, product innovation manager.
Emballages Magazine: How is Lactips doing in 2024?
Benoît Berny: Lactips is celebrating its tenth anniversary in 2024. Innovation is a long-term process. Marked by the handover from Marie-Hélène Gramatikoff to Alexis Von Tschammer, the new governance structure has been in place since 2022 with several priorities, including the desire to make a name for itself in the functionalization of paper and cardboard as an alternative to single-use plastics. The company currently employs 45 people in production, research and development (R&D) and sales. The Saint-Paul-en-Jarez (Loire) plant has a capacity of 10,000 tonnes of CareTips to start with. In terms of R&D, we are still exploring plant-based resources to complement milk casein. We are in the process of raising new funds to finance our commercial development.
