About KIUD
KIUD upvalues discarded textile waste into a premium rigid box. Our patented-pending technology converts challenging synthetic waste fibers into thin and durable sheet material, reducing 50% of CO2 compared to traditional cardboard production methods.
KIUD was born out of necessity by two female founders in the textile material technology and fashion industry. The driver was the alarming statistics: 75% of the 12.6 million tonnes of textile waste generated annually in the EU ends up in landfills, incinerators, or is exported to third countries.
Our mission is to convert textile waste into sustainable luxury packaging, mitigating its environmental impact.
How does KIUD turn discarded textiles into packaging fit for premium brands?
The exquisite and unique texture of KIUD is attained thermomechanically which enhances the material’s durability and resistance to cracks. Therefore, KIUD is an ideal solution for reusable premium packaging, aligning with the Green Deal and the ESG objectives.
KIUD is made in Estonia and is already commercially highly scalable via automated production processes. Consequently, our flat material is compatible with die-cutting equipment and printing machinery commonly used in the packaging industry. Providing opportunities for flexographic, screen-printing, and laser-engraving applications.
