Estal : Opting for simplicity in packaging
Belle Ile en Mer is home to La Distillerie du Ponant, an artisanal distillery specialized in moonshine. While production is done using centuries-old techniques, the spirits' aromatic profiles are surprisingly modern.

The distillery’s packaging strategy mixes sourcing with artisanal finishing touches. Its 500ml bottles come from Estal’s 100% recycled Wild Glass range. These are screen printed by Bernardet with vintage photographs that the brand changes for each different millesime. The printed paper labels are color-coded and each bottle is topped with a custom natural cork with wooden head from Portuguese supplier Portuliège. The corks are sealed at the distillery with natural black wax (Sesol). For limited editions, the brand calls on local glassmaker Bo Glass Studio, which upcycles the 500ml bottles and blows them into one-liter demi-john formats.
