JUNE 04-05, 2024 CARREAU DU TEMPLE, PARIS - France The premier trade show for sustainable packaging

Edition Spéciale by LUXE PACK welcomed 2,026 visitors

For its second year, Edition Speciale by Luxe Pack, the trade fair dedicated to greener packaging solutions, welcomed 2,026 visitors (an increase of 3% on 2019). While uncertainty continues to surround the pandemic, the trade fair was a great success, despite being held after the summer holidays.

“The need to feed creativity and commitment through “face to face” human relationships is stronger than ever. After a two-year break, this first event following the holidays gave us the chance to put the human aspect back at the heart of the customer-supplier relationship. “Our exhibitors are delighted, our visitors are here, it’s a great success” agreed Fabienne Germond, Trade Fair Director, and Nathalie Curvat, Deputy Chief Executive of organisers IDICE.

A WIDE RANGE OF THEMES DEVELOPED DURING THE TALKS

The trade fair provided a platform for discussion and reflection, hosting 11 talks and experience sharing sessions, as well as 8 pitches, offering a constructive dialogue space and a comprehensive picture of a number of subjects around this year’s theme: “Sustainable packaging, responsible consumption”.
Various experts in different fields took to the auditorium stage in turn, including eco-design and the circular economy (COOPERATIVE MU, QUANTIS, LA DAME A LA LICORNE, CITEO, RE(SET)), pure players (Oé, HIPLI, 8JS) and major industry leaders (CLARINS, GUERLAIN, LACOSTE). All were agreed: there will be no more prevaricating when it comes to transforming our creation, production and purchasing methods. Packaging will be eco-friendly or will cease to exist.
New for this year: The 4 plenary sessions will be available to watch back with English subtitles on My Luxe Pack (free account creation).

VISITORS’ PRIZE GOES TO PROCOP

During the trade fair, visitors were asked to vote for their favourite product. French papermaker PROCOP ended up taking home the GREEN AWARD, in partnership with INFINITY GLOBAL, for their Bio Cycle range. This range offers 5 different varieties of packaging made of up to 50% alternative ingredients such as chlorophyll, wheat, hemp and FSC certified virgin cellulose cotton.

UNIVERSAL APPROVAL FOR THE “MATIERES A SENS ET SENSATIONS” SPACE

The eight startups who pitched their ideas this year decided to draw inspiration from living things and reinvent existing materials to help brands reduce their environmental impact. In a dedicated space, they introduced visitors to natural, organically sourced, upcycled and recycled materials, combining the demands of the luxury goods industry with sustainable development goals. This new space maintained its buzz throughout the two days of the trade fair.
