Convert your CO2 kilos into environment credits with Procos

In partnership with ClimatePartner, the luxury paper bags manufacturer adopts the Carbon Neutral Printing approach. Objective: to offer brand owners the possibility of neutralising the environmental impact of their packaging.

Procos will present its It-Bag, launched at the beginning of the year, at EDITION SPECIALE by Luxe Pack: a plastic-free paper bag with handles that are 100% cotton and which is made from post-consumer fibres and FSC®-certified white kraft. And with the specific feature of an NFC tag. Sustainable connectivity? Yes. And which is in completely in line with the other initiative that was implemented last November by the German manufacture of high-end paper bags, namely to give their customer the opportunity to offset the carbon emissions generated by each order by investing in the climate.

We are always on the look-out for solutions that will reduce our carbon footprint. With ClimatePartner (one of the leading consultancies in the world for climate protection), we have developed a carbon footprint management system that makes it possible to calculate the carbon emissions of any order on the basis of its transport summary (weight, delivery method and location) and its production summary, calculated on the basis of the techniques with the most impact. Once this CO2 equivalent has been calculated, it is up to the customer to decide whether they want to continue in a “climate neutral” manner by investing in an environmental or CSR-based project on the ClimatePartner website to offset the CO2 kilos created by their order”, explains Stéphanie Havard, Operations Director at Procos.

Making the leap

Reforestation in Papua New Guinea, installing clean furnaces in Peru or a wind farm in Aruba (Lesser Antilles): for every donation that neutralises the carbon impact of their order, the brand receives a certificate and the right to use the ClimatePartner logo in their communications. “The aim is to offset the impact of our activities to maintain the balance of our environment. Each brand can choose the project that best reflects the brand’s image”. As an example, for an order of 7,656 items chosen by random, the CO2 value that needs to be offset equates to 3,521kg. This equates to: €52.80. A total investment which is more than reasonable.
